What kind of god does this?

The Creator of the universe.Infinite. Omnipotent. The Source.

In the beginning God ('Elohiym) created the heavens and the earth. (Gen 1:1)

The Hebrew word for "God" used in this verse is Elohiym which is a plural form.  The very first reference to God in the Bible shows that God is plural.  Not multiple "gods".  One God that is plural.God was in relationship before He made us.  LOVE existed before creation happened. Why is that significant?  If love had not existed before creation, then He could not say: "God is Love" (1 John 4:7-21).  Love is a verb that requires a source and an object/recipient, it cannot exist on its own. God is Love because God is in a loving relationship on His own within His plural-being.His Love was so amazing that He created us and invited us to be part of His Love.On this Easter weekend, I can't help but consider the distinct, unique and mind-boggling plurality of God.The question that I keep going to is: What kind of god wraps Himself in skin to be on earth with and die for His creation?Only a God of Love would do this.  A God of relationship. No other god would do that.  No other god has done that. And that's why I am a believer in the God of the Bible.I am totally blown away by this amazing plural God of Love.  Yahweh. Elohiym. Father, Son, Holy Spirit.

This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn't go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again.  John 3:16-17  (The Message)
