Green Blackberries

"Why are they called Blackberries?" Our four-year-old was frustrated that the berries are still not ready for eating. She listened patiently and nodded in understanding as I explained the process.  First there are flowers.  Next green berries.  Then red.  Then purple.  And they finally deepen to be so dark they look black."Oh yeah." She was happy with my explanation and moved on to other things.  Phew. But I couldn't move on.  Our conversation stuck with me all day. That's how God can call me precious, holy, faithful, beautiful, worthy, pure, gifted, strong, clean, a blessing. An unripe berry is not unacceptable.  There is no doubt it will become what it is becoming.  And so it is named for its destiny not for its status today.Thank Yahweh for His vision for me!  And for His craftmanship in my life.It might look like I'm a green berry but my Creator calls me blackberry.  And I'm becoming.I think green blackberries are going to be a new annual joy in my life.

You're beautiful from head to toe, my dear love, beautiful beyond compare, absolutely flawless. Song of Solomon 4:7
